Reigate town centre is the historic heart of this medieval market town in Surrey. It is built around three main shopping streets — the High Street, Bell Street and Church Street — which meet close to the town's most recognisable landmark, the Old Town Hall.

## Shopping in Reigate Town Centre

Reigate is known for its strong mix of independent shops sitting alongside national names. Bell Street and Church Street in particular are home to independent boutiques, delis, wine merchants, bakeries, cafés and gift shops, while the High Street carries a mix of chains and long-established local traders. Crown Passage and the alleys off the main streets add to the town's traditional market-town character.

The town centre has a wide range of places to eat and drink, from independent cafés and bakeries to national restaurant names on Bell Street and the High Street. Traditional pubs, including some of the oldest in the town, sit within a short walk of one another.

## The Old Town Hall

The Old Town Hall stands on an island site at the junction of the High Street and Bell Street. Rebuilt in 1728 on the site of an earlier market house, it remains the symbolic centre of the town and a Grade II listed building.

## Green Space and History

Just behind the High Street lie the Castle Grounds, a quiet public garden laid out in the grounds of the former Reigate Castle, with the Baron's Cave and other sandstone caves beneath. A short walk away, Priory Park offers 65 acres of historic parkland, a lake and a playground.

## Getting Around

Reigate railway station is a short walk from the centre, with services towards Redhill, Guildford, Gatwick and London. The town sits just south of the M25 (junction 8) and on the A25, making it well connected by road.
